PROBLEM STATEMENT

A.R.M.S. is concerned with the growing number of underprivileged youth of the present generation being stripped of vision and self esteem.  A.R.M.S. is the source of inspiration and confidence for these youth.  Sharing hope, leadership and potential job and career opportunities.

As an international foundation based in Johannesburg, South Africa,  A.R.M.S. seeks to bridge the gap between 1st and 3rd world economies.  Studies show that the increasing number of orphans is on the rise due to HIV and poverty related deaths of parental and guardian figures, which destroy the most important institute, called the “FAMILY”.

- 14% (600,000) of youth will have lost their parents by 2005 according to a 2003 CNN poll.

- sub-Saharan Africa completion rate of primary age students in rural

communities are only 35%

- 40% of South Africans are still unemployed leaving youth with bleak futures.

The facts above indicate greater turbulence ahead and a bigger need for A.R.M.S., and other programs like it, to step in and provide a positive direction for the youth.
